A popular interior design of many classic, traditional homes is a wallpaper and wood combination. This Lafayette Hill home fell right into that category. The homeowners called us at LaffCo. to give them an entire fresh interior that was both bright and modern.
This Lafayette Hill home consisted of a deep yellow wallpaper with extremely dark supplements. Our team began renovations on the classic home by gutting the wood and removing the wallpaper throughout the house. Once we had a clean slate, we dove in on our paint job.
Many classic homes desire a renovation that calms the intensity of the previous wallpaper. A typical solution is to utilize a clean white color combined with dark accents. After we selected our color palette, we began work in the home’s foyer.
The foyer was decorated with Spare White by Sherwin Williams, quite the opposite from the original wallpaper. To add character to the main entrance, the white was contrasted black railings and carpet on the front stairwell.
The foyer leads directly into the living room where we continued the white hue. The previous living room design included a distinct beige shade with a dark centralized fireplace highlight. The new white walls, wall accents, and rustic fireplace added luxury to the main gathering space.
Next, our team tackled the dining room. Prior to this renovation, the dining room consisted of red and beige wall paint on the split wall design. Ultimately, we saved the split design on the walls with our work.
Our team decided we would continue the white trim and wall decor to this dining space. Our team painted the top half of the walls with a deep calming blue Peppercorn by Sherwin Williams color. Below the blue, we added a white mid-wall trim with the white wall accents beneath.
Our team at LaffCo. succeeded in removing the wallpaper and wood to revitalize this traditional Lafayette Hill home. From the foyer to the dining room, this space is now inviting, modern, and functional.
