Yellow toned walls often start out as a stylish and bright, but over the years they can start to look faded and dull. These Conshohocken homeowners had a newer house with walls that were painted a deep yellow to imitate the Victorian Era. The colors, although not originally intended, looked older and worn.

Victorian Era style is characterized by lavish furnishings, decorations, and architectural choices such as arches and fireplaces. However, the style can easily seem dated. The family called LaffCo. Painting to help modernize their interior and simultaneously embrace the Victorian Era charm.

Our team decided to blend the elements of the Victorian design with a brighter backdrop. White Dove by Benjamin Moore was selected for the walls to create an inviting atmosphere in the kitchen, living, and dining room. The trim was refreshed with Extra White by Sherwin Williams, making the rooms feel light and bright.

Simply toning down the colors helped modernize the home’s style. The wall colors now accentuate the natural light and the home still holds a warm and inviting touch.
