Bedroom Painting in PhiladelphiaOne of the most difficult tasks when trying to paint your home is switching a wall from very dark to very light.

That is, unless you have the knowledgable experts at LaffCo. Painting on your side!

A client in Philadelphia was madly in love with everything about their new home in Rittenhouse Square…except for the master bedroom. The walls were painted in a deep blue, and the previous homeowner had tried to create the illusion of a tray ceiling by extending the blue paint onto the ceiling. The end result looked horrible, and the new homeowner wanted it gone.

We wanted to choose a shade of white that would brighten up the room while still giving it a soothing look. We selected White Dove by Benjamin Moore, and got straight to work on the walls.

After the walls were finished, we repainted the trim in Simply White by Benjamin Moore. You may remember us mentioning this as Benjamin Moore’s Color Of The Year in our recent blog post!

There was one final step to complete before we were finished with the bedroom. The room had built-in pine wood shelves for added storage. While they were a lovely addition, the shelves were still in their original dark brown wood color. We applied three coats of oil primer before painting them in White Dove, giving the shelves a contemporary, clean look.

The homeowner was so pleased with their new master bedroom that they didn’t want us to stop! We gave the trim in their hallway a touch-up with a bit of Simply White paint. Finally, our client had the Rittenhouse home they had always dreamed of.
