Dark And Gloomy To Light And Welcoming

LaffCo. Painting painted this house in Collegeville.

On a recent exterior painting project in Collegeville, the homeowners were looking to get away from their front entry’s dark, intimidating look.

The project was quite comprehensive because it involved painting on three surfaces – stucco, metal, and wood.

Proper Preparation

With different surfaces, it’s important to make sure the correct products are used so additional touch up work isn’t necessary in the short term.

LaffCo. Painting started by painted the stucco with two coats of Loxon XP to make sure it was 100% waterproof.

The trim was challenging because it was a very dark brown color. The mostly metal capping and metal windows required three coats of DTM Industrial Paint to cover the brown and make the new white shine.

The front door was actually bare wood – it needed professional priming and a glossy finish to keep it healthy for many years into the future.
